General Description / Primary Purpose
The Information Security Analyst II, under the direction of a Manager or above, analyzes information security systems and application logs for events. Assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs. May be assisted by Entry/Junior or Intermediate Level personnel. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity. Recommends policies and procedures to ensure effective coordination of departmental programs.

Essential Duties

Job Function
- Audits systems to ensure data is accurate and up to date.
- Investigates alerts and follows established procedures to remediate conditions that do not follow approved policies and guidelines.
- May be assisted by Entry/Junior or Intermediate Level personnel.
- Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity.
- Provides technical assistance and support for incoming information security queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
- Reviews violations of computer security procedures and discusses proper procedures with violators to ensure violations are not repeated.
- Conducts risk assessments and security audits, and manages remediation plans.
- Performs network penetration tests.
- Works collaboratively with university staff to ensure program's success.
- Assists in the preparation and delivery of workshops and training programs.
- May interpret departmental policies for area of responsibility.
- During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.
- This position is designated as a Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the position incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.
